Future4Alliances (F4A) is an Erasmus+ project which aims to support the continued development of the 65 European universities alliances by creating an environment conducive to the expansion of their activities, as well as by enhancing the coherence of funding provided by national and regional authorities.
To do so, F4A will bring together national and regional authorities from European countries and provide guidelines and recommendations for the future development of the European Universities alliances (EUAs). The ambition of the European Universities Initiative (EUI) of the European Union that unites universities from different European countries is to benefit students, academic staff, researchers and society at large, and pave the way for the universities of the future. European Universities alliances strive to enhance the international competitiveness of European higher education and to promote common European values and identity.
The Future4Alliance project is conceived as a platform that enables national and regional authorities to exchange on important issues related to the funding and implementation of European Universities alliances. These meetings and events will provide opportunities to share good practice from all over Europe.
The project focuses on three key themes:
- The sustainability of funding of European Universities alliances (EUAs),
- Joint educational programmes and activities, and
- The international dimension of EUAs and hosting policies.
F4A involves public authorities (national or regional ministries, national promotion agencies, national Erasmus+ agencies, accreditation agencies, representatives of European Universities alliances and a student association) from 13 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland. The project is set to run for three years (2025-2028).
