APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINES

Who can participate?

The CEEPUS programme is intended for students, as well as teaching and non-teaching university staff. To check if your institution is eligible to participate in the programme, please contact your National CEEPUS Office.

Application deadlines

  • Winter semester:
  • Network candidates – 1st June
  • Freemover candidates – 1st July
  • Summer semester
  • Both network and freemover candidates – 1st November

Application requirements

The formal requirements for participation in a mobility are as follows:

  • Applicants must be students or employees of an institution that is eligible to participate in the CEEPUS programme.
  • Students need to have completed at least two semesters of studies.
  • Teaching staff must teach or mentor in the host country for at least six hours per five working days.
  • Non-teaching staff must be closely involved in a network (this category is primarily intended for staff working in international relations offices).

Candidates applying for a CEEPUS scholarship should be citizens of a country that participates in the programme. If they are not citizens of a participating country but are full-time students or employees of a higher education institution participating in the programme, they are also eligible to apply. In such cases, they must submit an Equal Status Document. This document does not have a specific form but it must be an official document from the higher education institution confirming that the applicant is a student or an employee of that institution.

For freemover mobility, applicants are required to provide the following documents:

Freemover documentation must be submitted using the predefined templates available on the official website of the CEEPUS programme in the Downloads section.

Application process

Each application within a network is first nominated by the local contact person at the home institution. The home National CEEPUS Office then runs a formal check and forwards it to the host institution. Upon approval by the local contact person at the host institution, the application is sent to the National CEEPUS Office of the host country, which, after a final check of the application and the available quota of scholarship months, awards the scholarship and informs the applicant of the outcome.

Each freemover application is first reviewed and nominated by the home National CEEPUS Office. Nominated applications are forwarded to the National CEEPUS Office of the host country, which makes the final decision on awarding the scholarships.
