Blended mobilities enabled for CEEPUS incoming candidates for the 2021/22 academic year

CEEPUS candidates who participate in the academic exchange at the HE istitutions in the Republic of Serbia during the academic 2021/22 can carry out the mobility in the blended form as well.

In addition to the traditional, physical form of the mobility, students and academic staff participating in the academic exchange within CEEPUS program, can be granted a scholarship for the blended mobility also when coming to the HE institutions in the Republic of Serbia.

This option that was introduced during the summer semester of the previous academic year will be also an option for 2021/22, especially having in mind the current epidemiological circumstances caused by COVID-19.

Blended mobility is comprised of the obligatory physical part of mobility (the candidate is staying in the Republic of Serbia, even though the academic activities could be performed virtually due to measures introduced in the host institution in the light of the epidemic situation) and partly of virtual mobility that will also be financially supported to a certain degree, on the condition that prerequisites are fulfilled.

NCO Serbia also emphasizes that exclusively virtual CEEPUS mobilities to the Republic of Serbia will not be financially supported.

In the case of blended mobility, scholarships will be calculated and paid based on the real and documented duration of the mobility in its virtual and physical form. Depending on the candidate profile, scholarship rates differ.

For students, if the mobility is conducted as blended, the mobility must last at least 30 days in total: at least 15 days of virtual mobility and at least 15 days of physical mobility.

1) For the virtual part of mobility:

  • up to 15 days, including the 15th day – 5.000 RSD (which constitutes half of the rate for the usual scholarship month)
  • for every additional completed half of the month – additional 5.000 RSD

2) For the physical part of mobility, in accordance with previously established rates (see section Scholarshiprates for Serbia)

For teaching staff, if the mobility is conducted as blended, the mobility must last at least 20 days in total: at least 15 days of virtual mobility and at least 5 days of physical mobility.

1) For the virtual part of mobility:

  • up to 15 days, including the 15th day – 10.000 RSD (which constitutes half of the rate for the usual scholarship month)
  • for every additional completed half of the month – additional 10.000 RSD

2) For the physical part of mobility, in accordance with previously established rates (see section Scholarshiprates for Serbia).

Please be informed that in the case of interruption or early leave, the scholarship will be calculated and paid based on the real and documented duration of the mobility.

Candidates who wish to participate in blended mobility must obtain the consent of the host institution regarding the virtual part of the blended mobility.

When submitting the application, candidates must state the dates that are related to the planned virtual and physical periods of mobility. If the candidate has already submitted the application and however wants to conduct his/her mobility in blended form, it is necessary to agree on new possibilities with the mentor/local CEEPUS coordinator at the host institution, and inform the National CEEPUS Office in Serbia via email, at least one month before the designated beginning of the mobility.

In the case of blended mobility, candidates are encouraged to begin mobility in virtual and end it in the physical form.

When the virtual part of the blended mobility is finished, the mentor/local CEEPUS coordinator will issue an official confirmation that contains information regarding the period of virtually conducted mobility; this document will be used as the basis for calculation and payment of the scholarship for the virtual part of the mobility. The payment itself will be realized upon the arrival of the candidate in the Republic of Serbia for the physical part of the mobility. The candidate must register at the International Relations Office upon his/her arrival in accordance with the already established procedures, and there the candidate will be further informed on the dynamics of payment.

If the official confirmation of the virtually conducted part of the mobility is not made, it cannot be subject to scholarship payment; in that case, only the physical part of the mobility, in accordance with the procedures, will be considered for the scholarship. If the mobility shall be carried out in the traditional sense (exclusively physically), all the previously established scholarship rates and rules apply.
